Resource Management Plans

Sapphos Environmental Inc. has provided reserve and natural lands management services to public- and private-sector clients since the founding of the firm. The firm has prepared resource management plans for a diversity of habitats, including grasslands, coastal sage scrub, coastal dunes, alluvial fan sage scrub, riparian, and woodland habitats. Resource management plans have been prepared in support of California Coastal Commission permits, arbitration agreements, and conditions of approval and mitigation measures stipulated by Specific Plan Amendments. These plans have included long-term monitoring of vegetation and wildlife, management of urban-rural interface zones, maintenance of revegetation efforts, conservation of special status species, volunteer and student assistants programs, and student scientific involvement and education. Comprehensive plans have been prepared that address community-based land stewardship, management of riparian and upland habitats, and fuel modification zones. The development of resource management plans have involved extensive coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Parks Service, California Department of Fish and Game, and Regional Water Quality Control Board.
